Class Structure
Each service requires a consultation to book.
Each private class will be taught using the same structure. Upon arrival, the trainer and client will discuss long and short-term goals and how to achieve them. The trainer will be observing the dog's behavior during the entire lesson.
After goals have been discussed, the trainer will coach the handler/owner through the training cues. When the owner becomes the handler/trainer, the training bond is then formed between the owner and their dog creating obedience to the owner. The trainer will coach the team stepping in when necessary to make sure both owner and dog are fluent in the new cue before moving on.
The new cue will be initially achieved by using a high value reward given to the dog when the correct behavior is performed. This could mean using treats or pats paired with the positive reinforcer "YES." Learning "yes" paired with treats or pats makes sure the dog is able to be weaned off of the primary reinforcer for reliable results.
Homework will be given at the end of every class consisting of practicing what was learned in class. Dogs cannot learn without consistent repetition! 15 minutes a day, goes a long way!
Dont worry! We know trainer Faith talks A LOT. You'll get detailed notes after every class when new information is presented. You'll also get call/email/text privilege in-between classes when booking multiple sessions. If you have a question in between classes, trainer Faith is with you the whole way!
